BROOKLYN GRANGE

WHO WE ARE

Founded in 2010, Brooklyn Grange is the leading rooftop farming and intensive green roofing business in the US, operating the world’s largest rooftop soil farms, located in New York City. Brooklyn Grange promotes sustainable urban living by building green spaces, hosting educational programming and events, and widening access to locally grown produce in New York City communities.

Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) is like a magazine subscription, but instead you are receiving a weekly subscription of fresh farm vegetables! The Harvest Share CSA gives farmers the ability to grow food directly for the community and ensures access to locally grown produce. The Brooklyn Grange produce box is valued at $25 and features Chinese and other seasonal vegetables that participants pick up weekly for 20 weeks. Produce pick up will be on Tuesdays from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm.

Produce boxes will be available on a sliding scale, inviting participants to choose your price point based on your income and access to wealth, practicing economic solidarity with your community because fresh food should be a right and not a privilege!

As a Harvest Share CSA participant, you will be asked to participate in a few surveys and a measure of fruit and vegetable intake. The surveys include one at the beginning of the program (45 minutes), a couple feedback surveys (15 minutes) throughout the 20-week CSA, and one at the end of the program (45 minutes). Participants will receive a gift card upon completion of the longer (45 minute) survey each time.

SLIDING SCALE SHARES

Our sliding scale is meant to empower our community. We trust you to know what price tier is best for your unique, individual situation and financial resources. This is a self-identification process that is private and will not be reported or require any proof or documentation. By self-identifying your own access to income and wealth, each member is committing to contribute the same percentage of income on food.
